Video blog

This video reminds me of Romeo and Juliet because it is a story of forbidden love. Set in Italy, the story involves a beautiful princess who falls in love with a journalist. They can never be together because her family wont allow it, and even though they dont die in the end, the ending is still very sad. Like in Romeo and Juliet, Juliet grows up a little from the influence of Romeo. In Roman Holiday, the princess is a baby in the beginning but becomes a real princess at the end. I found this video on youtube after watching the movie myself.

This picture reminds me of Romeo and Juliet because it shows two rivals fighting. In this comparison of the book and movie, Darth Maul represents the fiery Tybalt and Obi-Wan Kenobi portrays the lovesick Romeo. In Star Wars, Darth Maul kills Qui-Gon Jinn which forces Obi-Wan to kill Darth Maul to revenge the death of his friend. This scene is played out in Romeo and Juliet when Tybalt kills Mercutio and Romeo must revenge the death of Mercutio. Although both stories are utterly different, they both share the same idea of arch rivals.

Romeo And Juliet: Act 2

One of the most interesting scenes in act two, is the obvious balcony scene. My favorite part of the balcony scene is after Romeo and Juliet declare their never ending love for each other, Juliet's nurse calls from within the Capulet mansion. I think that the nurse's call had perfect timing. It seems to me that whenever Romeo comes close to Juliet, they are interrupted by some outside force. So in the future of the book, I think that Juliet and Romeo will get interrupted by something or someone, if the play follows the same pattern.
This part of the play strikes me close to the heart because it seems to me that my mother has the same kind of timing as Juliet's nurse. For instance, I was finally talking to the guy I had a crush on when my mom started telling me it was time to leave the class. Even though I gave her a few " please go away" looks, she never let up. This is how I feel sorry for Juliet with her embarrassing nurse.
